A lot of businesses, especially in healthcare, finance, legal, and insurance, already rely heavily on WhatsApp because of compliance logging, audit trails, and customer familiarity. SMS is limited in many regulated workflows, while WhatsApp conversations can be archived and managed much more cleanly.
Inbound WhatsApp chat + AI agents would open up:

Especially for international clients, WhatsApp is often preferred over SMS entirely.
